Every time a friend announces she is having a baby, I start telling her about the Cuddledry towel. I am not Cuddledry’s head of PR and marketing (although I reckon I would be rather good at it), it is just that the concept is so good, it revolutionised bathtimes for me when my son was little.
So the idea – if you didn’t know already – is simplicity itself, as most great ideas are. They have taken a towel and added a handy strap that slips around your neck, creating the ‘hands-free apron towel’. What it means is that, instead of struggling to keep a towel on your lap as you stand up ready to lift your slippery wet baby from the bath, this one hangs securely on around your neck so when you sit down, it is where you want it to be, on your lap. We used ours every bathtime, and washed it frantically to be ready that same day so we were never without it.
The reason I am telling you all this is because Cuddledry has just launched its range exclusive to Mothercare (another company I adore) in a new ‘coffee and cream’ design. As well as the apron towel (£29.99), there will be other natty inventions available in stores across the UK such as the Little Bear poncho towel (£27.99) for toddlers and the Coffee and Cream hair towel (£8.99) all made from Cuddledry’s signature staysoft bamboo towelling – a signature blend of cotton and bamboo that is antibacterial and stays soft and absorbent after washing (bamboo is 60% more absorbent than cotton).
