When the little man was really little, the first shoes I got him were a pair of cute leather slip-ons from Bobux, that were soft as soft with a gentle elastic ankle support. He was crawling at the time, with the occasional foray into assisted walking and I needed something that would protect his feet without restricting his growth in any way, and these were perfect.
Now my baby is a lively almost two-year-old, running around all day at 100mph so I decided to call on Bobux again, this time trying out its i-walk range, designed with active toddlers in mind. With summer coming up, I chose the Rocket Sandal, in black so it would go with everything (not that he notices). These are beautiful. Well made, in sturdy but soft leather with a flexible rubber sole that grips well and conforms with his natural walking motion. They come in at £29.95 and are worth every penny.
For girls, the Classic Sandal in pink is adorable, and I found it hard to resist the i-walk Dockside Boat Shoes. Perfect with a pair of chinos and a lightweight sweater worn playfully over the shoulder, don’t you think?

New to Bobux is the Step Up range which I would have tried out but the little man sprinted past needing these before I had the chance to even look. They are made for the crawling to cruising stage and the designers have been careful to reflect the distinctive anatomy of a first walker’s foot so they don’t restrict growth at this key stage. The sole is particularly lightweight and flexible for just this reason. They cost £29.99 and are available in sizes 18-22. Visit www.bobux.co.uk to find out more.
